Our Cabinet Services in McAllen, TX

Custom Kitchen Cabinets in McAllen, TX

Custom Kitchen Cabinets

Custom kitchen cabinets are the single largest thing you will ever buy for a house that is not the house itself. We design, build, and install full custom kitchens in McAllen from 3/4-inch furniture-grade plywood with solid maple dovetail drawers.

Bathroom Vanities in McAllen, TX

Bathroom Vanities

Custom bathroom vanities are the piece of cabinetry that fails first in almost every Valley home, and the reason is straightforward: it is a wood box sitting under a water source in a room that gets steamy twice a day. We build vanities in McAllen from furniture-grade plywood with a sealed interior, marine-grade construction at the sink base, and hardware chosen for a wet room rather than a dry one.

Walk-In Closets & Wardrobes in McAllen, TX

Walk-In Closets & Wardrobes

Custom walk-in closets and wardrobe systems are the highest return per dollar in the entire cabinet business, because the space already exists and almost nobody is using it properly. We design and build closet systems in McAllen that replace the single rod and shelf a builder installed with a layout matched to what you actually own.

Garage Cabinets & Storage in McAllen, TX

Garage Cabinets & Storage

Garage cabinets turn the least organized room in a Valley house into the most useful one, and they have to be built for an environment no interior cabinet ever faces. We build garage storage in McAllen from moisture-resistant plywood or powder-coated steel, wall-hung wherever possible, with finishes and hardware chosen to survive a room that regularly runs twenty degrees hotter than the house.

Home Office & Built-Ins in McAllen, TX

Home Office & Built-Ins

Home office and built-in cabinetry is what turns an awkward spare bedroom, a dead corner, or a blank living room wall into the part of the house everyone comments on. We design and build built-ins in McAllen that are fitted to your actual walls, which is a different product entirely from freestanding furniture pushed against them.

Entertainment Centers & Media Walls in McAllen, TX

Entertainment Centers & Media Walls

Entertainment centers and media walls are the built-in most likely to be designed around a television that will be replaced in four years, which is exactly the mistake to avoid. We build media walls in McAllen that hide the equipment, manage the heat and the cabling properly, and are dimensioned so the next screen still fits without a rebuild.

Laundry Room Cabinets in McAllen, TX

Laundry Room Cabinets

Laundry room cabinets are the fastest and cheapest room in the house to transform, and most Valley laundry rooms are one shelf and a length of wire rack away from being a genuinely good workspace. We design and build laundry cabinetry in McAllen with a folding counter, real detergent storage, hanging space, and hampers that live inside the cabinetry rather than on the floor.

Pantry Systems in McAllen, TX

Pantry Systems

Pantry systems are where a kitchen either gains or loses about a third of its practical capacity, and most builder pantries in the Valley are deep fixed shelves where food goes to be forgotten. We design and build pantry storage in McAllen around a simple principle: if you cannot see it without moving something else, you do not own it.

Cabinet Refacing, Refinishing & Painting in McAllen, TX

Cabinet Refacing, Refinishing & Painting

Cabinet refacing, refinishing, and painting are three routes to the same destination, and which one is right for your McAllen kitchen depends entirely on the condition of the boxes rather than on how the doors look. We assess the carcasses first and tell you honestly which route makes sense, including telling you when the answer is that none of them do.

Cabinet Hardware & Organizers in McAllen, TX

Cabinet Hardware & Organizers

Cabinet hardware and interior organizers are the cheapest upgrade in a kitchen and the one that changes daily life the most, which is a strange combination that most people discover only after they have spent thirty thousand dollars on the cabinets themselves. We install and retrofit hardware and organizers in McAllen kitchens, including on cabinetry we did not build.

Soft-Close & Pull-Out Systems in McAllen, TX

Soft-Close & Pull-Out Systems

Soft-close and pull-out systems are the mechanical difference between cabinetry that feels expensive and cabinetry that merely looks expensive, and in a busy Valley household they are also the difference between hardware that lasts twenty years and hardware that gets loose in three. We fit and retrofit Blum and Grass soft-close hardware and pull-out storage in McAllen, on new cabinets and on existing ones.

Countertops in McAllen, TX

Countertops

Countertops are the surface you touch more than any other in the house, and in the Rio Grande Valley the choice is shaped by heat, hard water, and how much maintenance you are honestly willing to do. We template, fabricate, and install quartz, granite, solid surface, and butcher block countertops in McAllen, and we set them on cabinetry we have leveled properly so the seams stay tight.

Islands & Breakfast Bars in McAllen, TX

Islands & Breakfast Bars

Custom kitchen islands and breakfast bars are the piece of a kitchen everyone gathers around and the piece most likely to be sized wrong, because it is the one element people specify by how it looks rather than by how the room moves. We design and build islands in McAllen starting from clearances and traffic flow, then work outward to storage and seating.

Wine & Bar Cabinets in McAllen, TX

Wine & Bar Cabinets

Wine and bar cabinets are the smallest project we do that gets the most compliments. We build wine storage, wet bars, dry bars, beverage centers, and coffee stations in McAllen, and we will tell you plainly what a cabinet can and cannot do for a bottle.

Mudroom & Entryway Storage in McAllen, TX

Mudroom & Entryway Storage

Mudroom and entryway storage is the cabinetry that decides whether the first ten seconds of coming home are pleasant or aggravating, and it is almost always the last thing a builder thinks about. We design and build drop zones in McAllen, from a full mudroom wall of lockers to a single well-made bench in a garage entry hall that is only four feet wide.

Commercial Cabinetry & Millwork in McAllen, TX

Commercial Cabinetry & Millwork

Commercial cabinetry and millwork is a different trade from residential work, built to different standards and expected to survive a level of use no home kitchen ever sees. We design, build, and install commercial casework in McAllen for offices, medical and dental practices, clinics, retail, restaurants, schools, and churches across the Rio Grande Valley.

McAllen Elite Cabinets is an insured custom cabinet company with over 15 years of experience designing, building, and installing cabinetry for homes and businesses across McAllen, TX.

Our work covers custom kitchen cabinets in maple, white oak, hickory, and walnut, bathroom vanities, walk-in closets and wardrobe systems, garage cabinets, home office and living room built-ins, entertainment centers and media walls, laundry rooms, pantry systems, kitchen islands and breakfast bars, wine and bar cabinets, mudroom and entryway storage, cabinet refacing and refinishing, quartz and granite countertops, and commercial cabinetry for offices, medical suites, and retail.

Everything we build starts with a 3/4-inch furniture-grade plywood box rather than particleboard, which matters more in the Valley than almost anywhere: particleboard swells and crumbles once humidity finds a cut edge, and around here humidity always finds it.

Drawers are solid maple with dovetail joinery and full-extension Blum undermount slides, doors are full-overlay or inset depending on the design, hinges are Blum or Grass soft-close, and painted finishes are catalyzed conversion varnish rather than a brushed enamel that will chip at the first fingernail.

We build to KCMA and ANSI A161.1 standards, use CARB Phase 2 compliant panels, and can source FSC-certified material on request. Free in-home design, and every kitchen carries a written workmanship warranty. Se habla espanol.

What McAllen Customers Say

★★★★★
Full kitchen in white oak with plywood boxes and dovetail drawers. They showed us the plywood next to the particleboard the other quote was using and the choice made itself.
Rogelio S. · Edinburg
★★★★★
Our sink base had rotted out from a slow leak. They rebuilt it properly, sealed the interior, and refaced the rest of the kitchen so it all matches. Half of what replacement would have cost.
Marisela V. · Mission
★★★★★
Built out four exam rooms and the reception desk for our clinic. Sealed seams, solid surface tops, and the ADA section at the counter was right the first time. Inspector had no notes.
Adriana C. · Weslaco
★★★★★
Walk-in closet with a proper double hang, drawers, and shoe shelves. They asked what we owned before they drew anything, which nobody else did. It holds twice what the old rod did.
Hector M. · Pharr
★★★★★
Painted the whole kitchen in their shop with a sprayed finish. Two years of grandkids later there is not a chip on a single door edge. Se portaron muy bien con nosotros.
Norma G. · Alamo
★★★★★
Garage cabinets wall hung on a ledger, moisture-resistant plywood, and a workbench top. They measured around the truck door swing so we can still park in there.

About McAllen Elite Cabinets in McAllen, TX

McAllen Elite Cabinets has spent over 15 years designing, building, and installing custom cabinetry across McAllen and the Rio Grande Valley. We are a shop first and a sales operation second, which means the person who measures your kitchen has actually built one, and the boxes going into your house were cut and assembled by people whose names we know.

We handle kitchens, bathroom vanities, closets, garage storage, built-ins, entertainment centers, pantries, laundry rooms, islands, bar cabinets, mudrooms, countertops, refacing, and commercial casework.

The thing that separates cabinetry that lasts in the Valley from cabinetry that does not is material, and it is the easiest place for a low bid to hide. We build 3/4-inch furniture-grade plywood boxes with dado-and-glue joinery, solid maple dovetail drawers on full-extension Blum undermount slides, Blum or Grass soft-close hinges, and painted finishes in catalyzed conversion varnish.

We build to KCMA and ANSI A161.1 standards and use CARB Phase 2 compliant panels, with FSC-certified material available on request. The difference between that and a stapled particleboard box with thermofoil doors is invisible on install day and extremely visible after five Valley summers.

Whether it is a full custom kitchen in Sharyland, a set of closets and a laundry room in Edinburg, a medical suite in Weslaco, or refacing a solid 1990s kitchen in Pharr that just needs new doors, we design it, build it here, and install it with our own crews. Free in-home design consultation, itemized quotes, and a written workmanship warranty on everything we make. Se habla espanol.

How It Works

  1. 1

    1. In-home design

We measure the room ourselves, talk through how you actually cook, store, and live in it, and produce a layout and elevations. The design visit and the quote are free.

  2. 2

    2. Materials & finish

You pick species, door style, and finish from real samples rather than a screen. We show you plywood against particleboard side by side and let you decide with the facts in hand.

  3. 3

    3. Build in our shop

We cut, assemble, and finish in our own shop in the Valley: plywood boxes, dovetailed solid maple drawers, and conversion varnish sprayed in a controlled booth.

  4. 4

    4. Install & adjust

We scribe to the walls, level and shim the boxes properly, hang and align every door, fit the hardware, and come back to adjust after everything has settled.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much do custom kitchen cabinets cost in McAllen?

A typical Valley kitchen in furniture-grade plywood with dovetail drawers and soft-close hardware generally runs from the low $10,000s into the $30,000s depending on size, door style, finish, and how much specialty storage you add. Refacing an existing kitchen with sound boxes is usually a third to a half of that. We give you an itemized quote after a free in-home measure so you can see what each choice costs.

Why does plywood matter more here than elsewhere?

Humidity. Particleboard is compressed wood fiber and glue, and once moisture reaches an unsealed edge it swells and never recovers. In the Rio Grande Valley, between Gulf humidity, condensation under a sink, and a dishwasher that leaks for a month before anybody notices, that happens far more often than it does in a dry climate. Furniture-grade plywood holds a screw, holds its shape, and does not turn to oatmeal.

How long does a custom kitchen take?

Design and measure takes a week or two, fabrication typically runs four to six weeks depending on finish, and installation is usually three to five days for a standard kitchen. Painted conversion varnish finishes take longer than stained ones because of cure time. We give you a schedule before you commit and tell you if anything slips.

Do you do refacing as well as new cabinets?

Yes, and we will tell you honestly which one your kitchen wants. If the boxes are solid plywood, square, and laid out the way you want to live, refacing with new doors, drawer fronts, and matching veneer gets you a new-looking kitchen for a fraction of the cost. If the boxes are swollen particleboard or the layout is wrong, refacing just puts good doors on a bad kitchen.

What is a soft-close hinge and is it worth it?

It is a hinge with a hydraulic damper that catches the door in the last few inches and closes it silently. Blum and Grass both make excellent ones, and yes, it is worth it. Beyond the noise, a door that never slams stops hammering the frame and the finish, which is a real durability difference over ten years of a busy family kitchen.

Do you build for offices and medical suites?

We do. Commercial casework is a large part of our work: reception desks, break rooms, exam room cabinetry with sealed seams, dental and medical storage, retail fixtures, and office built-ins, specified to hold up under commercial traffic rather than residential use.
